MY REIKI JOURNEY

How Did I Start Learning Reiki? An Energy Healing Journey

As many of my friends and colleagues know, I officially stepped into the healing field in July 2020 as a quantum hypnotist. My practice was rooted in the BQH (Beyond Quantum Healing) method and, most notably, Dolores Cannon’s QHHT (Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique). To this day, I still regularly receive quantum hypnosis sessions myself. Hypnosis remains an extraordinary tool, opening up a vast ocean of cosmic knowledge and profound experiences for both the practitioner and the client.

Around the same time, I felt guided to begin learning and practicing Reiki, starting with Holy Fire III Reiki. At that moment, I wasn’t thinking about how to package it as a “bonus” service to add value for my clients; I simply learned it out of pure passion. Fast forward a bit, and energy healing became a massive trend in Vietnam, with new modalities sprouting up like mushrooms after the rain.

The Search for Subtle Sensations in Energy Healing

The reason I originally chose to learn Reiki was beautifully simple. As a hypnosis therapist, I have to use my mind and my voice continuously. With Reiki, however, I could facilitate deep healing while maintaining a perfectly still mind and a relaxed mouth ^^ because Reiki operates primarily through subtle energetic sensations.

However, my Reiki journey was far from smooth sailing. Even as the years passed, I hesitated to claim the title of a Reiki Master, even while my peers and fellow practitioners were rapidly becoming teachers and launching booming Reiki classes.

When I first started, I felt incredibly anxious and uncertain because Reiki was often described in highly abstract terms. But then I reminded myself that hypnosis is just as abstract to someone who has never experienced it, so I took the leap and attended the class.

What followed was a fascinating phase of experiencing the flow of healing energy and practicing on others. But soon after, a period of confusion set in:

  1. The Self-Healing Disconnect: No one was performing Reiki on me—I was always the one giving it. And when I tried practicing self-Reiki, I barely felt a thing =))).

  2. The Information Gap: When channeling energy into clients, I could physically sense the energy moving, detect blockages, and identify affected chakras. However, I couldn’t translate those energetic signals into practical insights about their daily lives.

While the Reiki energy undeniably brought immense healing value to the recipient, as a professional therapist, that alone didn’t feel like enough. I was receiving raw energetic data but couldn’t decode its deeper meaning, nor did I intuitively know when a session was truly complete. These nuances cannot be mastered through books; they require raw, real-world therapy sessions. A teacher cannot simply hand you clinical intuition. That is why I chose to “wait for the divine timing” before stepping into the Master level.

Exploring Modalities: From Kundalini to Siam Reiki

Moving forward, I explored Kundalini Reiki—which I jokingly refer to as the modality for lazy people, or the “sleep like a baby without an alarm” practice ^^.

The sleep induced by a Reiki hands-on placement is entirely unique. Sometimes it is a hyper-dense, deep sleep lasting only 15 to 20 minutes. Other times, it’s a lucid, light rest where you remain fully aware that you are sleeping. Either way, you always wake up with a profound sense of weightlessness, as if physical pain and heavy emotions have instantly vanished. There were countless times I set a 20-minute alarm, yet my body naturally woke up refreshed just a minute before it rang.

Even so, the energetic feedback I received from my clients’ bodies during Kundalini sessions still didn’t fully convince me. It is undoubtedly a powerful tool, but lacking precise, direct guidance from a spiritual teacher, I felt I couldn’t fully unlock and map out my own potential.

The Turning Point with Siam Reiki

At the beginning of 2023, I discovered Siam Reiki and Master Steve. Initially, I had no intention of enrolling (since I thought I had already “checked the box” for Reiki). However, the universe pushed me into taking Siam Reiki Level 1 as a mandatory prerequisite for another course.

That detoured path changed everything. The further I progressed into the higher levels and specialized modules, the more profoundly convinced I became. My intuitive abilities were noticeably elevated.

As someone who is bursting with ideas but naturally values efficiency (and can be a bit forgetful!), I deeply resonated with Master Steve’s approach: straightforward, laser-focused, and highly effective for physical and emotional healing.

Yet, perhaps my earlier confusion was necessary; it created the exact contrast I needed to truly appreciate the unique, structured value of Siam Reiki. I trust that the universe orchestrates everything perfectly, so I look back with nothing but gratitude.

Essential Insights for Aspiring Reiki Practitioners

Based on my twists and turns, I want to offer a few grounded perspectives for my friends, colleagues, and anyone curious about the world of spiritual healing:

1. For Personal Self-Healing and Loved Ones: Prioritize Practicality

If your goal is simply to heal yourself or support your family, look for a system that is highly practical and results-driven. When you are balancing a busy life, you shouldn’t waste energy on overly complex rituals—otherwise, spiritual fatigue sets in, and you will give up.

I know several individuals who hold “Reiki Master” titles from other lineages simply because those systems lack strict requirements regarding case studies or clinical hours. They have the certificate, but they struggle with the actual practice, and eventually, their hands go cold.

The Siam Reiki Difference: To become a Siam Reiki Master, you are required to treat a vast number of real cases. The more hands-on work you do, the more it becomes second nature. It forces you to overcome laziness through tangible results. Choose a straightforward modality that yields immediate feedback so you stay motivated.

2. For Professional Healers: Embrace the Long-Term Investment

If you desire to become a certified energy healing practitioner, accept that this is a lifelong marathon requiring significant time, energy, and financial commitment. A master healer rarely relies on a single tool. Even within one specific modality, understanding its true depth often requires learning from different perspectives and teachers.

Along this path, you will frequently hit plateaus where you feel deeply uncertain or completely overwhelmed ^^. When those moments come, remain calm and patient. Listen to your heart, keep doing the work, and trust that you are simply calibrating before shifting to a brand-new spiritual level. The challenge itself is the medicine—so learn to enjoy it!

My Reiki Journey: Where I Am Now

After years of weaving quantum hypnosis and Reiki into my daily practice, nothing brings me greater joy than seeing how I have inspired friends and colleagues to explore the healing arts. Even for those who choose not to become practitioners, watching them consciously transform their lives and start viewing the world through a more beautiful lens is the ultimate reward.

I wish you all absolute joy and peace on your unique paths. If you want to dive deeper into my experiences or have any questions about choosing the right Reiki session or training, please feel free to drop me a message here.

And to anyone reading this who goes on to become a Reiki Master, a master healer, or even a playful, carefree deity like Ji Gong (Tế Công) ^^—whenever I cross your mind, please send a little love and light my way! Haha ^^!
